WHAT: This Sunday, Dec. 5, NBC will broadcast a special one-hour presentation of the Johnny Morris Bass Pro Shops U.S. Open National Bass Fishing Amateur Team Championships.
The tournament is a first-of-its-kind amateur fishing tournament offering the largest payout in freshwater fishing history. 350 teams of amateur anglers, fishing legends and celebrities were hosted by Big Cedar Lodge, America’s Premier Wildness Resort, on Table Rock Lake from Nov. 19-21.
The national broadcast is anticipated to garner the largest television audience in the history of bass fishing, while featuring dramatic highlights from the epic three-day National Championship that ended with fishing buddies and Auburn University students – Logan Parks and Tucker Smith – claiming the $1 million first-place prize. Highlights will also include the announcement of the Johnny Morris Happy Fishin’ Kids Contest and Missouri Veterans Fishin’ Contest winners, where 13 youth anglers from around the country and two veterans from Bass Pro Shops’ home state of Missouri received brand-new Bass Tracker Classic XL boats.
