The American Legion is currently holding its 31st Junior Three-Position Air Rifle Tournament, which provides sporter and precision competitors an opportunity to test their marksmanship ability in competition with other junior competitors throughout the nation.
The event, open to junior (18 and younger) individuals and club teams affiliated with an American Legion Post, is conducted in two postal phases: a first round for State Championships and a second round for qualification to the National Championship in July. The course of fire includes 60 shots for record at 10 meters (20 shots at prone, standing and kneeling positions).
Competitors registered for the match will receive official targets to be fired upon at their local ranges and returned for scoring. Distribution and scoring is administered by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP).
