Salt Life is committed to the ecological impacts of marine life and ongoing efforts to keep it safe for marine life, and for all of us
COLUMBUS, GA (October 13, 2020) – Salt Life, one of today’s leading lifestyle brands, announces their ongoing commitment to the marine eco-system with a partnership with the Chesapeake Bay-based Oyster Recovery Partnership through a special T-shirt with all net profits benefitting the foundation. Please visit www.SaltLife.com or www.OysterRecovery.org.
Salt Life President Jeff Stillwell says “We are big supporters of the Oyster Recovery Partnership and are proud to be associated with their cause and the upcoming ‘Bay Paddle’ sponsorship. It is a very important step in the education and preservation of our oceans and waterways. To be able to assist in bringing much-needed awareness to the public in such a simple and impactful way is the mantra of our brand. We want everyone to enjoy living the Salt Life, while also understanding the struggles and maintenance needed to keep our oceans healthy. So, go order a shirt and we thank you for the support.”
Currently, the majority of ORP restoration efforts are directed toward sanctuary reefs, which are areas that are protected and where harvesting does not occur. Sanctuary reefs have the best chance of forming a natural, three-dimensional structure that provides habitat for Chesapeake Bay marine animals and ecosystem services such as water quality improvement.
“We’re grateful to have Salt Life, a well-known and well-loved apparel brand, sponsoring ORP. Their partnership will help plant even more oysters in the Chesapeake Bay by raising both funding and public awareness on the important role water-filtering oyster reefs play in the Bay’s recovery,” states ORP Director of Partnerships Paul Schurick.

About Oyster Recovery Partnership
Oyster Recovery Partnership is a Maryland-based 501-c3 nonprofit that uses the latest innovation in science, collaboratively with its partners, to produce spat-on-shell and deploy the resulting juvenile oysters onto scientifically selected sites in the Chesapeake Bay. These efforts aim to bolster oyster populations, assist oyster farmers in production, support wild fishery harvests and re-create large, healthy reefs. Over the past two decades, ORP has planted 8.5 billion oysters on 2,500 underwater acres throughout Maryland. Learn more at www.oysterrecovery.org.
