The organization now offers a free guide as a resource for HB1927.
The U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), the industry-leading organization in firearms training and education, released the 2021 Texas Permitless Carry Guide to encourage Texas gun owners to make safety and training a priority with the inception of H.B. 1927.
On June 16, 2021, Governor Abbott signed H.B.1927 (the Firearm Carry Act of 2021) which allows individuals 21 years of age or older in Texas to open carry or concealed carry a firearm in public without a special permit or license. The bill went into effect today, making Texas the 21st state to permit constitutional carry.
“The USCCA is proud of Texas for continuing to fight for and preserve Texans’ natural-born right to self-defense,” said Founder and CEO Tim Schmidt. “The USCCA is committed to providing a resource for the firearms community to understand the provisions under H.B. 1927.”
That resource is the 2021 Texas Permitless Carry Guide. The comprehensive guide will cover topics including:
- Who can legally carry under H.B. 1927
- How individuals can lawfully carry under H.B. 1927
- Locations and behaviors that are prohibited under H.B. 1927
- A constitutional carry FAQ
In addition to providing a resource for H.B. 1927, the USCCA is committed to training responsibly armed Americans who want to protect their loved ones. Individuals can learn and prepare online through the training and education resources offered by the USCCA, where they can unlock lessons on firearms safety and home defense. The USCCA is also proud to offer in-person classes through its certified instructor network. It has over 450 instructors in Texas and 7,000 nationwide.
